Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Great location in the heart of the city - close to the Egyptian Museum. Got to experience the real Egypt with local shops and stalls everywhere. Friendly and helpful staff - with a manager who gave us a tour of the hotel and shared interesting stories about old Cairo.
None mentioned, would recommend.

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing honeymoon stay at this charming hotel! The staff was incredibly professional and kind, making us feel like true VIPs. The hotel itself is like stepping back in time, with its iconic 50s vibe and stunning rooftop hangout. The Egyptian breakfast included in the price was a must-try, and the location was perfect for experiencing the vibrant energy of the city. The AC worked perfectly, and our spacious room had a high ceiling and a cozy bathroom. If you're looking for character and charm, this hidden gem is the place to be!

Step back into the past at Carlton Downtown and experience the charm of old Cairo. The 1930s-style lobby and oak-panelled bar transport you to a bygone era. The rooftop terrace offers a fine view of the bustling city below. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a comfortable stay. The rooms may be slightly tired, but the decor and cleanliness make up for it. With rates starting at just £15 a night, this hotel is a hidden gem.

A hidden gem in the heart of the city, Carlton Downtown is a time capsule of authentic Cairo. The faded decor adds to its charm, and the reception service went above and beyond, even keeping our luggage for three days. The rooftop cafe was a great spot to unwind, with a friendly staff. Both rooms we stayed in, 601 and 602, were lovely, especially the second one with its huge verandah. The location was perfect, with shops and stalls aplenty, and the Egyptian Museum just a short walk away.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

We had a fantastic stay at Carlton Downtown, a nice old-fashioned hotel in the downtown area. the rooftop restaurant cafe bar was a highlight, offering great views and excellent breakfast served by a very friendly waiter. the retro decor of the hotel and room added to the charm, and the staff were extremely helpful. We also appreciated the clean and comfortable accommodations, with the whitest bedsheets we had in Egypt. the location was perfect, right in the heart of the city, with shops and stalls nearby. it was a wonderful experience that allowed us to sample the real Egypt.
Nothing at all. 🌟
